Down Hall Country House Hotel - 1 night, 13th February – Room only
A magnificent Italian-style mansion set in 110 acres of woodland and landscaped gardens with a history dating back to 1540. The sumptuous surroundings of the main lounge with its fine furnishings, antiques, brilliant chandeliers and exquisite tapestries offer a warm and charming ambience in which to relax. This over night stay could be confirmed for the 14th February instead, if preferred.
Itinerary
Your romantic getaway begins just 20 minutes from Stansted Airport with a night at Down Hall Mansion.
Evening dining can take place in either the Downham Restaurant, which offers a table d’hote menu or visit Ibbetson’s, the new 2AA Rosette fine dining restaurant to enjoy English and European cuisine (evening meal payable locally). You can take afternoon tea in the lounge and unwind in the cocktail bar.
On the morning of February 14, you travel to the exclusive VIP Harrod's Terminal at Stansted Airport to be greeted with long-stemmed roses and romantic music. From there you board the Titan Airways luxury jet to Venice while enjoying in-flight entertainment and a three-course breakfast including smoked salmon, croissants, fruit and bucks fizz.
Boarding a deluxe coach you will be transferred to the harbour. Aboard a private boat you will be provided with a romantic picnic lunch consisting of sandwiches, cakes, Baci chocolates (meaning kiss), fruit, mineral water and orange juice. On arrival in St Mark’s square you are free to enjoy this wonderful city.
No visit to Venice would be complete without a private gondola ride around its timeless canals. Guests have the opportunity to do just this and be greeted by musicians before being taken around the ancient waterways of Venice.
Disembarking from your Gondola rides you head for afternoon tea including sandwiches, tea, cakes, pastries and champagne at one of Europe’s most exclusive hotels, The Hotel Danieli is a masterfully restored palace synonymous with the splendour and romance of Venice. Only steps away from legendary sites such as the Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, The Danieli’s has been the luxury hotel preferred by the discerning visitors to Venice for generations. After enjoying your time here we will return to the quayside for the journey home.
Finally, the luxury Titan jet will play host to a three-course gourmet dinner complete with a fully complimentary bar. Chocolates, quarter bottles of champagne and special mementos will be provided complimentary to round off a perfect day.
